How Alert Level 2 Impacts the Property Industry

Plumbers, electricians and tradespeople are able to visit properties for normal repairs if the tenant allows access. You can find more information on this in the government guidelines here.

Property Inspections

Landlords and Property Managers can now begin scheduling and conducting Property Inspections. A relief for many investors. You can read the recommended guidelines in this latest article.

Providing Property Viewings

Small groups below 10 people is allowed at viewings. But consider how large the property is when deciding numbers. A studio apartment makes it difficult for 10 people to keep to social distancing requirements. Before a viewing can be confirmed, attendees must have Covid-19 Alert Level 2 safety guidelines and instructions provided, and they must confirm their acceptance of these. At the viewing ask them to fill in a Covid-19 registry in case there is a need to contact-trace. If a property is tenanted, the consent of the tenant is required to hold a rental viewing. Gloves and masks can be provided to prospective tenants and worn by yourself as well.

Final Inspections and Chattels

You can now complete final inspections and chattels. We recommend wearing gloves and completing this 72 hours after the property has been vacated.

New Tenancies
